Star Wars The Force Awakens Trailer and Poster Review

So this trailer hit the US screens last night, for us in the rest of the world we had to time it so we'd be awake or just wait to the next morning. I tried the first but by half two I gave up and I'm glad I did because I would have had to wait a full hour until it was posted on YouTube. I was knackered.

So I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's first talk about everything I like or dislike about the poster which was released on Sunday. SPOILERS, AS I WILL BE ANALYSING FOOTAGE. I will probably be way off but just incase.

What I liked:

1. The women in this poster are my favourite part, yes I am bias! Rey (Daisy Ridley) was front and centre of this poster looking pretty bad ass might I add. Leia (Carrie Fisher) is looking great, even if she is somewhat obscured by Han's (Harrison Fords) face. Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) is also looking great clad in armour. Maz (Lupita Nyong'o) the little alien next to R2, looks interesting. All in all good to see this many women on a science fiction poster where they are all actually wearing clothes.

2. The men because I am not sexist! Rey's parallel with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) just screams twins/siblings to me but I could be wrong. They could be no relation what so ever, but I doubt it! Ren also looks very menacing. Finn (John Boyega) is looking great with Lukes lightsaber. Poe (Oscar Isaac) in full Republic pilot suit, and Han who like Leia is also looking great. I also really liked the lack of Luke (Mark Hamill), not that I wouldn't love to see him but it adds mystery. Has the son of Darth Vader been kidnapped by Vader's biggest fan boy? I dunno but I'm excited to find out. Also there's a theory out there that Luke is Kylo Ren, although this would be one of the greatest twists in film history I really doubt it.

3. The Starkiller is pretty bad ass, I understand why it isn't called a Death Star as it blows up entire star systems instead of just blowing up planets but still to me it shall be death star 3.0, bigger, faster and stronger. It's also a nice testament to the original script as Annikin Starkiller was the proposed name for the lead.

4. Chewie, R2 and BB-8. Who doesn't love Chewie (Peter Mayhew)? He is loyal and kicks some serious ass. Same goes for R2 (Kenny Baker) my all time favourite character and let's face it the real hero. New kid on the block BB-8 also has the cute factor, for kids and us females, we just eat all that up, sorry C3P0.

What I disliked:

1. There is way too many characters in this poster. There I said it. As much as I loved seeing them all there's too many.

That's it, it's the only thing I disliked about it but I'm sure when my other half buys it I'll learn to let this dislike go.

Moving onto the Trailer

The trailer starts with Rey scavenging in a fallen Star Destroyer on the planet of Jakku, she then looks bored and watches a distant ship with interest. A voice asks Rey who she is, now this voice is probably Maz but it could also be Leia. I doubt it as I did go and listen to an interview given by Carrie Fisher at the end of April this year, and it sounds nothing like her. We then move on to see Finn, who is in his Storm Trooper gear, something happens and it looks like he crash lands on Jakku. With Finns voiceover stating, "I was raised to do one thing, I've got nothing to fight for."

We then cut to Kylo Ren, who looks as though he is on a base, nothing is going to stand in his way as he talks to Vader's helmet and he also tells it that he will finish what Vader started. We then see Kylo Ren torture poor Poe Dameron who looks like he's using some form of force power, then what looks like an explosion takes out a bunch of trees and then we see the shot of the Millennium Falcon trying to escape some Tie fighters on what again looks like the planet Jakku.

We then hear Rey saying that there were stories about what happened with Han telling her and Finn that they are all true, and then the Millennium Falcon goes into Hyperdrive (Chewie punched it). We then see clips of Kylo Ren and his followers, an X-Wing, Stormtroopers, and the clip we saw on Sunday of Finn and Poe having what I would like to call a bro moment. More X-wing peaks as it takes out a tie fighter, an explosion in front of Rey and Finn and then what looks like Han leading them into an old Jedi temple, all while Han says "The Dark Side, The Jedi, They're Real."

We then see what we would like to think is Luke with R2-D2 but it may not be, Captain Phasma and Kylo Ren are causing some major damage. Rey is crying over what I think is a dead Chewie, seriously what else could be that hairy? We hear a voice which sounds similar to that at the start of this trailer, I say it's Maz but it could be Leia it says, "The Force it's calling to you." We then have a little bit of deja vu as we see a shot of Han, Chewie, and Finn with there hands behind there heads. BB-8 flying with Poe on his X-Wing, more Stormtroopers, what looks like a pissed off Rey shooting a blaster pistol.

An X-Wing trying to take out a Stormtrooper, Kylo Ren, an explosion inside a base/ship. Leia looks upset as she hugs Han, Finn activates his, well Lukes, well Anakin's lightsaber. Then he has a stand off with Kylo Ren, and the screen goes black. Then the same voice states, "Just let it in."

Now that's a hell of a lot of information to take in, nevermind in just over two minutes. I had to watch each clip about three or four times and I have probably missed some stuff. My whole analysis on the entire thing is that The Jedi and Sith are no more, they have been buried after all the mayhem and destruction the original trilogy had caused. All ancient Jedi and Sith knowledge in my opinion has been erased. Who can blame them? Thirty years is not a long time to consider History as stories (which Rey refers to them as), maybe after a few hundred years. I think Rey is force sensitive, alongside Finn (which isn't a stretch as he does have a lightsaber) and Kylo Ren (who at the moment I think is just an apprentice). We keep hearing he isn't a Sith though so maybe what he is, is similar to Revan.

As I stated above Rey is crying over something big and that something looks a lot like Chewie, to me. It could be anyone. It's easy to think that Han Solo will die just due to the comments given by Harrison Ford in the past but I don't actually think he will, in this movie anyway. I believe he is there to guide them through into the second movie.

What did you think? Am I wrong? What are your theories? Are you excited for this movie? Comment below.

I'M ALL ABOUT THAT BASE, BOUT THAT BASE, NO REBELS!

Agents of Shield - Purpose in the Machine

So yeah I just finished watching Agents of Shield episode two. I was going to leave it until tomorrow morning but I found myself wanting to write about it.  I really enjoyed this episode guys and I am going to tell you why. SPOILERS ARE COMING! Now let's talk about Ward (Brett Dalton), I love hydra Ward best. If Grant has an evil purpose he is better for it, he might not have the girl, but he has a team. Ward is going to cleanse Hydra of all its money lovers. He will form Hydra 2.0, only in it for the destruction. Now that's the Ward we can all get behind, he might be the bad guy, but he's our bad guy. So the episode starts in 18th century England inside a creepy mansion with men in powdered wigs and such. They are technically drawing straws but with stones, the white stone goes in the Portal. He will be missed but they throw out a hydra-esque quib about how they have to sacrifice to learn, wait no one actually comes back. Oh no Simmons! We cut back to present day a...

Game of Thrones - Who Else Could Return From The Dead?

Spoilers ahead for episode seven of this sixth season, The Broken Man.  Last week I was so relieved to finally see the Gravedigger Theory  confirmed, us book fans had an idea that we hadn't quite seen the last of that loveable Hound, Sandor Clegane (Rory McCann), and it was nice to see him appear lugging a tree. Now we are faced with wondering who else could potentially rise from the dead before this sixth season is over. Stannis the Mannis Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) was apparently killed by Brienne at the end of last season, but the shot cut away before we saw his head being chopped off. If watching the show or reading the books has taught us anything it is to not believe someone is dead until we actually see it happen with our own two eyes. The Hound was in a similar position, we all thought he would die from bleeding out in the middle of nowhere but he had help in the form of Brother Ray (Ian McShane), who had stumbled upon him and saved him from dea...

Daredevil Season 2 Trailer

SPOILERS, as always for those who haven't watched season one.  So everyone's favorite Blind(ish) Superhero is back in a new trailer. Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) is feeling guilty, maybe for the death of Ben Urich (Vondie Curtis-Hall) last season, maybe for something completely different. Father Lantom (Peter McRobbie) tells Matt that guilt can be a good, although Karen (Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy (Elden Henson) also look plenty guilty in this teaser trailer. We then see a bunch of clips including Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) in her nurse scrubs, and Elektra (Elodie Yung) getting her mask on, all while hearing a voice over from Father Lantom who indicates that it may be because Matt's work as Daredevil is not yet finished. We then see Karen Page holding a Punisher skull on a x-ray and looking pretty freaked out by it. Then comes what I am most looking forward to, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) is here, in a hospital (watch out Claire) and looking pretty bad ass if I do...
