My Top Five Moments from The Walking Dead

So with the most recent tragedy still on our minds I wonder, what is the five best moments of the walking dead? So many great moments happen in this show but I am going to list my favourite moments. SPOILERS ARE COMING for those that may not be caught up with the series so you have been warned.

So what's my top five moments? To answer this I had to use a lot of brainpower and do a ton of research. So don't be sad if I missed a few, put your best moments in the comments.

5. Amy's Death

Ok, Amy (Emma Bell) was Andrea's (Laurie Holden) sister, remember they lived in a camper van together and they had lost their dad during the month long Rick (Andrew Lincoln) coma. Amy gets killed in the first season when a herd of walkers come and infiltrate the first camp that the gang is staying at. Ahhh do you remember now? I blame Glenn (Steven Yeun) for this tragedy as that day he drove a blaring Dodge Challenger back to the camp, way to alert every zombie in the place of your known location. But hey, Ed (Carols Jackass of a husband) died during that scene as well so I suppose it was kinda a good thing that Glenn lead the zombies to the campsite but still, Amy was a nice lass.

So anyway, this was an important moment in the series as Amy was a very important character at the time. Some might say at this point she was more important than Andrea, and she had the likeable factor. Her death showed us the viewer that nobody is safe, and that the walkers act with no remorse for our feelings or who we may like to see on our television scenes. It's not just the guys in the red shirts that are fair game in this franchise. I really like Amy, she was a sweet kid who was starting to grow up so she had to go. Check out her death scene below, which I only managed to get one minute into, it's too early for this.

4. WHAT'S in the Barn?

So this was absolutely brutal. After the events of Amy's death at the end of season one the gang are left to survive elsewhere. They have lost their homes, well campervans, to a mass horde of zombies. The gang spills out onto the road, Sophia (Madison Lintz) is told to hide by her mother Carol (Melissa McBride) but instead she runs into the forest from a zombie. By the time the gang has dealt with the threat Sophie is long gone. This starts a man hunt that lasts for a large portion of this season. Where is she? We sort of give up hope of ever finding out what happened to that little girl. The gang find Hershel's farm as a base while a shot Carl (Chandler Riggs) is recovering. That moment was brutal too.

Also the above, Zombie Shane (Jon Bernthal) happened during this second season. But my top five shock factor happened when I saw Zombie Sophie coming out of that barn. For Shane I was just excited to see him die as he was getting on my nerves at this point and he had broken the all so sacred Bro Code. He deserved it, Sophie was just a small kid who had the worst kind of life. Her father was sexually and physically abusive to her. I think the first one as we don't see it but it's implied. She deserved to live the rest of her life in the peace and quiet next to a stream with daisies and furry friends. Might sound pretty Disney but we can't always get what we want. Watch her death scene below. I got eighteen seconds in, I'm going to be emotional all day now.

3. Glenns Supposed Death

Oh I can't really talk about this right now. I'm too emotional after Sophia's death scene. Ok Em, get it together. See what I do for you guys. Ok this pass Monday I sat down on the couch, got my jammies on, fluffy new housecoat, got a bowl of halloween candy and I tuned into the latest episode of the walking dead. I was not prepared for what I saw, to understand this we'll have to go back to the beginning. Ok so when Glenn showed up on screen I really liked him. He was crazy and pretty carefree, well as carefree as you can be during a zombie apocalypse. Then he met Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and she was just as wild as he was. Then they grew up, Glenn changed, everything was Maggie, Maggie, Maggie, so I started to dislike him.

Then this happened. The Governor (David Morrissey) had destroyed the all powerful and boring prison. Sorry but it was getting a bit stale at that point. Glenn was trapped inside alone and he had to think fast. Flashes of a new Glenn had surfaced, one that was not unlike the old Glenn one I had enjoyed to watch. He went on a journey and has been climbing his way back ever since. He's not afraid to take risks anymore, but he's also cautious and he's made for enjoyable watching.

This on the other hand was brutal. By this point I was really enjoying watching Glenn again, I was looking forward to him having a family and being a kickass protector Dad. I hoped he would take on Rick's role as lets face it anyone can die on this show. But it is all for naught, well maybe. It's all possible that Nicolas (Michael Traynor), who I will be referring to as Olly 2.0 for the foreseeable future, landed on top of Glenn as he fell. This means that all of the guts we see in the picture above belong to Olly 2.0 and not Glenn as we are lead to believe. But let us firstly point out that he is still in the middle of a massive herd of Zombies. There's like a 90% chance he couldn't survive, unless in a first season throwback he is covered in that much guts the zombies don't notice. What if he survives only to be later shot for looking like a Zombie. I dunno guys, check out his "death" scene below. Thirty-two seconds is as far as I could get.

2. Beth! Why?

Beth (Emily Kinney) was Hershel's (Scott Wilson) youngest daughter and Maggie's sister. When the gang had all gotten separated during the assault on the prison Beth was left with Daryl (Norman Reedus). They travelled together, she got him to break his ever so hard shell and we were all really loving Beth as a character. This gal had been through a lot and was really beginning to stand up and fight. She went from resident babysitter to zombie killer, her parent's died, her boyfriend died like right away, but we could all tell she was about to start kicking some serious butt, and then she gets kidnapped.

Turns out it's a community, or more a community living in a hospital who need to train up more people to help the sick and injured. Shortage of anything in the zombie world. This community is run by a city police officer called Dawn (Christine Woods) and Dr. Steven (Erik Jensen) who rule with an iron fist. Beth befriends Noah (Tyler James Williams) and they try to hatch a plan to escape. This plan fails for Beth but is successful for Noah who leaves her and heads straight into Daryl and Carol. They all head back for the hospital and conflict arises while during the what should have been simple trade of Noah for Beth turned into a nightmare. Beth stabs Dawn and through nothing but only reflex, Dawn shoots Beth through the skull. She instantly looks as though she regretted it but ends up being shot by Rick. Daryl carries Beth outside and that part always gets to me. It's heartbreaking because in a world where the undead are a constant threat we can still die from reflex. Watch her death scene below, nine seconds and I'm already welling up thinking about it.

1. Look at the Flowers

This is going to be tough guys. I don't even know why I thought this would be a good idea. Ok so this again happened when all the characters had split up during the Governor's ransack on the prison. This was again on the way to Terminus, I don't like talking about the same season twice but these were both my and my other halves best walking dead moments so I had to put them both in. So Carol, who was previously shunned from the prison and was left to fend for herself, all because she killed people to stop everyone else from getting sick and dying, sees fire at the prison. She springs into action but as she gets there she runs into Tyreese (Chad L. Coleman) and the kids, Lizzie (Brighton Sharbino), Mika (Kyla Kenedy) and Judith. While walking the gang come across a walker which Tyreese tried to kill but Lizzie tries to save as she has become increasingly confused of late. Probably because people tried to kill her.

Remember Carol kills Tyreese's girlfriend so we are all led to believe that this would be the trouble that the season is headed straight toward but it continually dramatic fashion the Walking Dead leads us down the wrong path. So during this time the gang come across a cabin and decide to stay there for a few days. Lizzie continues to act weird as she plays tag with a Zombie and stating that walkers are her friends. This kid has snapped, feeding the trapped walker from our earlier story, she tells Tyrese some creepy things and then they are hunted down by walkers. The next day Carol and Tyreese return from a hunt to find that Mika is dead, Lizzie has killed her sister with a knife and she's turned into a Zombie. Lizzie reveals that Judith is next but Carol manages to talk her down and Tyreese takes her inside as Carol is left to deal with Mika.

Tyreese and Carol talk over Lizzie's behaviour and they both agree that she needs to be put down. Judith needs both of them to survive and Lizzie is going to kill one of them eventually. He wonders if Lizzie killed Karen (his girlfriend) and David, who was also sick. So the next morning Carol takes Lizzie out for a walk. Lizzie knows Carol is upset and starts pleading for her life, Carol keeps telling her to, "Look at the flowers," Lizzie keeps pleading. As she looks down Carol shoots her in the back of the head with her revolver as Tyreese looks on. They both then bury the two girls, and Carol admits to killing Karen to stop everyone else from getting sick. Tyreese actually forgives her, I think at a point when you've been through so much bad stuff that the little things don't really matter.

So that was my five top moments, what are some of yours? Comment below on the ones I've missed. This is such a great show that it is really hard to pick. But for now I am going to play some SWTOR as their new expansion was available yesterday and I only got to play for a few hours yesterday. Watch Lizzie's death below, three seconds! I only managed three seconds. I've had enough!

Game of Thrones - The Hall of Faces Trailer and Theories!

I've been watching out for this trailer for the past week and was pretty excited to see some footage from the new season. Instead we got to see the faces of characters, some of whom are long lost, and others who have yet to leave us. SPOILER WARNING for those who haven't caught up with season five. The trailer takes place in the Hall of Faces, which is inside the House of Black and White in Braavos. The hall looks great, creepy but great. We can hear some whispers which are too quiet for me to make out. Then Ned's (Sean Bean) face appears on screen, we then hear him say a line from the show's first ever episode called Winter is Coming.    "The Man who passes the sentence should swing the sword." The screen then fades to black and we then see a clip of some more rows of heads. We then hear even more whispers and which I think sounds like some drops of waters. We then hear the voice of Robb Stark (Richard Madden) who we hear give a quote from seaso

Mental Illness in TV and Film - Dementors

Image Source Dementors have haunted me ever since I read The Prisoner of Azkaban way back in 1999. I was a Pre-Teen who was pretty much unaware of the depression that was just around the corner, in a way this book prepared me for what was to come, and after multiple reads, it became my go-to reference when explaining my depression. First off let's give a brief outline of Dementors, these magical wraith-like creatures can generally be found guarding Azkaban Prison, sucking the happiness, hope, and peace out of everyone around them. If you have had a horrible life marked by loss and abuse (just like Harry) you are much more affected by them than someone who has not, as they also cause depression and despair in there victims. They can sense and taste fear, but thankfully they can't seem to tell people of the same build from each other, and they are able to communicate wit

Mockingjay Part 2 Teaser

So in a similar vein to Sony releasing a Bond teaser to get our juices flowing for release, Lionsgate release their own Mockingjay Part Two clip. SPOILERS AND THEORIES ARE COMING! I haven't read the books but I have a few theories after watching this clip. I may be 100% wrong though, no guarantees. So in the trailer our Mockingjay Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), is greeted by our newlywed Finnick (Sam Claflin). She comments at how short his honeymoon was and he replies stating that he'll,"be having one in the capital, after they take it." Well if this doesn't scream I'm going to die in this fight then I do not know what does. We are then greeted by Boggs (Mahershala Ali), he is commanding the non combat unit, they will be days behind the first unit and that Lt Jackson (Michelle Forbes) is his second in command. Cressida (Natalie Dorma) tells us the team are going to be the Star Squad and that Katniss is at her most effective when she is seen by the masses.
