This Week's Trailers

This week has been filled with a lot of big trailers, X-Men: Apocalypse had it's second trailer, we had our first look at Sausage Party (do not type that into google kids, you have no idea what I had to look through), and we also had a first look at Ben-Hur. Below I will give a quick recap of the trailer as well as my thought's on each one.

Storks

Storks is an upcoming animated movie which follows a young boy on his quest for a brother, his parents don't seem too keen on the idea so he writes a letter to the Storks asking for a baby brother. There is a problem though, the storks are moving away from the baby delivery service to a package delivery one. When this delivery appears a stork named Junior (Andy Samberg) must drop everything and deliver that baby. Kelsey Grammer and Keegan-Michael Key have also been confirmed to voice roles in this movie.

My thoughts on this trailer are mostly that it looks like something you can take the kids too, although be warned, your kids might start pestering you for a little sibling after watching this. I did enjoy the, "Baby powder," scene, I know that actors voice but at the moment I just can't place it. So in summary fun for the family or maybe if you're a big kid like me.

Sausage Party

From one animated movie to the next, although I will stress this one is not for kid's folks. Sausage Party is an upcoming movie following a hot dog named Frank (Seth Rogen), while in the grocery store food just wants to be chosen, they make themselves look as good for that one chance to be placed into the shopping cart. Things take a nasty turn however when Frank and the rest of his gang get taken back home and get chopped, peeled, and sliced by these evil humans. Frank goes on a journey to save the food.

I will say this it makes me feel horrible for eating which is just ridiculous, food is not alive when I pick mine up at a supermarket. It does look really funny and different, when I first started watching the trailer I thought it was going to be another generic animated film so it really surprised me. It also has a great looking cast voicing this thing, Kristen Wiig, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, Salma Hayek, Edward Norton and Michael Cera to name a few. My favorite scene has got to be the baby carrots escaping. It looks like it could be a funny movie for adults only.

High Rise

This trailer looks really mysterious, it takes place in some ultra modern high rise buildings and it is based on a novel of the same name by J. G. Ballard. It follows Robert Laing (Tom Hiddleston) who is seduced by this high-rise lifestyle where the rich of the top floors have high society parties while the poor on the bottom floors are depraived.

If I wanted to go see this film today I could as it's currently out in the UK but it just doesn't look like my cup of tea. That's not to say that the film doesn't look interesting and it does have a very great cast including Sienna Miller and Jeremy Irons, but I am just not psych enough to go to the cinema and sit through it. Maybe when it come out on DVD I will watch it but as for now I think I will pass.

Ben-Hur

We have all seen Ben-Hur right? Classic movie starring Charlton Heston? Well this is a remake of the movie that I watched as a kid and was just mesmerized by. I didn't care that it looked old, I just enjoyed the story. This trailer looks shiny and new, Morgan Freeman is in it so that must mean that I've got to like it though? Wrong. If you want to see Ben-Hur then go and watch it, you don't need shiny graphics and fake looking sea.

You can remake a movie and make it better, look at Scarface. But I am calling it, this movie will be Clash of the Titans bad. That is no disrespect to the actors, the writers or anyone else involved in this movie, you just can't take something this iconic and remake it with a shiny yet subpar version. I hope I am wrong because if it's going to be remade it needs to be superior in every way to the original, but I've got a feeling that it won't be.

X-Men: Apocalypse

Apocalypse (Oscar Issac) and his four horsemen, plan to extinct the human race and anyone that gets in the way of this plan. The X-Men must come together to fight off this threat, which for the human race looks like a bleak one as bombs are being launched and Apocalypse is tearing everything apart. Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) must help lead the young X-Men into war. Professor X (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), and Quicksilver (Evan Peters) return after Days of Future Past. They are joined by a new cast of heroes we have seen versions of before, as well as ones we have yet to see on the big screen.

I hope this movie ends with Mystique adopting herself a little baby Rogue because I have been waiting a long time for that Rogue to appear on my screen. Personal feelings aside this movie does look interesting, Apocalypse is the definition of Big Bad when it comes to the X-Men and I am excited to see what havoc he brings along with him.

That's me folks

Well that was pretty fun, me going insane over Ben-Hur, but we did get some weird yet fun looking trailers this week. What trailer did I miss that was your favorite of the week? Comment below and win an invisible T-Shirt.

Game of Thrones - The Hall of Faces Trailer and Theories!

I've been watching out for this trailer for the past week and was pretty excited to see some footage from the new season. Instead we got to see the faces of characters, some of whom are long lost, and others who have yet to leave us. SPOILER WARNING for those who haven't caught up with season five. The trailer takes place in the Hall of Faces, which is inside the House of Black and White in Braavos. The hall looks great, creepy but great. We can hear some whispers which are too quiet for me to make out. Then Ned's (Sean Bean) face appears on screen, we then hear him say a line from the show's first ever episode called Winter is Coming.    "The Man who passes the sentence should swing the sword." The screen then fades to black and we then see a clip of some more rows of heads. We then hear even more whispers and which I think sounds like some drops of waters. We then hear the voice of Robb Stark (Richard Madden) who we hear give a quote from seaso...

Lion Rampant

So for those of you who haven't heard about this project it was leaked during the Sony hack. This as a potential sequel to Braveheart called Lion Rampant, after the flag I have shown above. Really it should be called Braveheart as Robert the Bruce was called the Brave Heart and his heart was taken into battle after his death. Depicting Robert the Bruce's story and the Battle of Bannockburn (24th June 1314) in Scotlands first war for independance where King Edward II was beaten in battle by a small force lead by Robert the Bruce. Robert the Bruce in Braveheart was shown as a traitor and I am hoping that this upcoming movie would mean that he will hopefully get the makeover he so rightly deserves. Although he did pay homage to Edward I, The Bruce really secretly supported Wallace (later publicly supporting him) and he did not betray Wallace, that was Sir John Menteith. This could easily turn into a what's wrong with Braveheart post so I will state that they did get the...

I dropped the ball!

........ Image courtesy of paradigmalibu These last few months I've felt as if I have dropped the proverbial ball, my mind has been witness to a stand off between Mental health disorders and things from my past I'd rather not constantly have to relive. It's buried itself into my soul while operating my mindless drone of a body, I've relived every conversation I ever had; thought of Friends long gone as I struggle to open up about my disability. I don't even like calling it that as it feels disrespectful to people like my parents; who's struggle and sheer joy of receiving two disabled free babies has been with me my entire life. But I am not OK - I feel like I have to admit that to the world. A miscarriage has taken me back mentally to a place I've not been for a very long time, and I'm petrified t...
