Daredevil Recap

Hopefully by now most of you will be sitting down to watch the second season of Daredevil, I on the other hand have to wait on a certain person getting home from his job before I can start watching. So in order to fill my time and maybe fill in some of the blanks you have, I decided to do a recap of season one. A season one SPOILER WARNING is in affect so if you haven't watched it then please do go back and take a look at it.

In April 10th 2015 we got something spectacular, most of us didn't want to see Daredevil on any screen thanks to that movie we got back in 2003. I myself was talked into watching the series but I went into it on a clean slate and had zero expectations. Boy was I wrong.

Episode 1: Into the Ring

In a flashback we see a young Matt Murdock (Skylar Gaertner) saving a man from a car accident, it all goes south though when a batch of chemicals spill and they blind him. In present day Murdock (Charlie Cox), wears a black mask and is fighting four guys who are trying to put some women in a shipping container.

The next morning he awakens to a phone call from Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) about the law practise that they are both opening, Nelson and Murdock. Foggy goes to visit a childhood friend of his, Officer Mahoney (Royce Johnson) Foggy gives him cigars for his mum as Foggy is on the lookout for some interesting cases and Mahoney eventually agrees to contact him if anything comes up.

Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) is arrested for murder when she is found holding a bloody knife, and thanks to Officer Mahoney, Foggy and Matt go to the precinct to introduce themselves, Karen states her innocence and Matt believes her after listening to her heartbeat.

James Wesley (Toby Leonard Moore) threatens Officer Clyde Farnum's (J. Tucker Smith) daughter so then he enters Karen Page's cell and tries to kill her but she fights back. Karen is then released into the custody of her lawyers and reveals to them that she discovered some shady financial records from Union Allied Construction, but lies telling them she does not have a copy. When she thinks Matt is asleep she sneaks out to get them.

There is someone waiting in her apartment but before she is killed a masked man shows up and starts fighting with the assassin. The masked man gets the flashdrive and is about to give it to the authorities but Karen convinces him instead to give it to someone he can trust. He decides instead to give it to the people by leaking the story to the New York Bulletin. Karen comes to work for Nelson and Murdock and Weasley reports to some mysterious figure and who tells him to open a file on Nelson and Murdock.

Episode 2: Cut Man

In a flashback we see a young Matt Murdock (before losing his sight) watching his father Battlin' Jack Murdock (John Patrick Hayden) box on television. Matt would stay up and wait on his father coming home, they would talk about the match and Matt would stitch his dad up.

After the whole chemical eye incident Matt would now stay in the gym as his dad practised, Matt was listening in when he was approached by two thugs, Roscoe Sweeney (Kevin Nagle) wanted Jack to throw the upcoming match. Jack refused but it wasn't until they threatened Matt that Jack agreed to do as they asked. Although on the night of the match Jack actually beat his opponent and was later found dead in an alley.

Back in present day, Matt heard the screams of a boy who was being abducted by some Russian gangsters. He tried to rescue him but he was beaten really badly. Santino (Moisés Acevedo) finds Matt in a dumpster and tells Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson). Claire takes Matt back to her apartment, she takes care of his wounds and removes his mask, finding out about his blindness.

In the law office Foggy is on a mission to cheer Karen up. He takes her out to show her that the city is not so scary and they both get very drunk. I do like their chemistry with each other but Karen basically blows it by being all starry eyed about Matt.

Matt won't reveal his identity to Claire so she calls him Mike, but he does reveal his heightened senses when a Russian comes into her building looking for him. She hides "Mike" from the Russian but he grew suspicious. They head to the roof to confront him and end up torturing this guy for information on the kidnapped boys location, when they get it they throw him off the roof into the dumpster we saw Matt in earlier.

Matt then goes to the hideout where they are keeping the boy and faces off against a gang of these thugs. Remember he is recovering from a big beating but even though he can hardly stand he still takes them all out and rescues the kidnapped boy. You can view this scene in the clip below, it was my first wow moment of the show.

Episode 3: Rabbit in a Snowstorm

James Weasley (from episode 1) hires Foggy and Matt to defend John Healy (Alex Morf), an assassin who was hired to kill Prohaszka (Peter Claymore). Healy's gun jammed so he has to get creative by smashing Prohaszka's face with a bowling ball, the police then arrive and Healy surrenders.

Matt is in a lot of pain from fighting the Russians in the previous episode, Father Lantom (Peter McRobbie) goes over to him, he sees the scars on Matt's face, he wants to help him but Matt is having none of it. In the office Karen hides a letter from Foggy, and Matt lies about his bruises. Lot of lies going on in this office at the moment.

After a meeting with James Wesley, Foggy and Matt go to visit Healy. Foggy doesn't want the case but Matt is curious as to who Wesley's employer is so he convinces Foggy that they need the money. Karen goes to speak to her old employer (Union Allied Construction), they wish for her to sign a NDA for six month pay, she feels cheated by this after all she has been through, so she doesn't sign.

Matt and Foggy appear in court, Matt notices a juror's heartbeat which is heightened when James Wesley appears in court. Later on that night Matt follows her as The Masked Man, turns out she is being blackmailed but he learns a lesson, no matter how many he takes out some of the jury will still be blackmailed.

Ben Ulrich (Vondie Curtis-Hall) tries to tell his editor about a new player who is taking over Hell's Kitchen, but he won't let him tell this story as apparently it won't sell newspapers. We also find out that Ben's wife is in the hospital suffering from a long term illness.

Back in court Matt is fighting Healy's case, they return to the verdict with a hung jury, meaning that Healy is free to go. Later that night The Mask catches up to Healy, they both fight, The Masked Man gets the advantage though and pins Healy down.

He gets Healy to name the mysterious man he is working for, Healy gives the name Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) and commits suicide. We then return to Fisk, turns out he is in an art gallery staring intently at a very white painting. Vanessa Marianna (Ayelet Zurer) walks up to him and they both discuss the painting.

Episode 4: In the Blood

Eight years previously Anatoly (Gideon Emery) and Vladimir Ranskahov (Nikolai Nikolaeff) were in Utkin Prison, They both used weapons, recycled from Vladimir's old cell mates bones, in order to escape and decided to go to New York instead of going back to Moscow.

In present day Matt is being stitched up by Claire, and he gives her a phone so he can contact her beforehand instead of just appearing at her apartment. Ben is trying to convince Karen to stop going after her old employer (UAC), but in the end he decided the best way to keep her safe is to actually go after them with her.

Fisk goes back to the Art Gallery to ask Vanessa out on a date, she actually accepts. Wesley gives Fisk's proposal to Anatoly and Vladimir, Fisks gets the assets from Prohaszka's murder (last episode) and Fisk will deal with this masked man. Anatoly seems as though he thinks this is a good idea but Vladimir does not want to do this deal.

The two brothers decide that they can take out the masked man themselves and awaken the Russian (from episode two who is thrown into the dumpster) from a coma. When he wakes up he tells them about Claire's apartment, they head over there to find it empty but they make Santino tell them where to find her.

Matt then receives a phone call from a screaming Claire, he rushes and finds her in a garage owned by Vele's taxis. Matt as the man in black fights off the Russians and eventually frees Claire, who hits her attacker with a baseball bat.

Anatoly goes to see Fisk, only problem is he is right in the middle of his date with Rebecca. This makes Rebecca tell Fisk that she regrets her decision to go out with him. Fisk then takes all of his anger out on Anatoly, and in the craziest moment ever he keeps smashing Anatoly's head with a door until it comes off. Wesley states that this action will cause a war, Fisk states that he hopes it will.

Matt and Claire have a little bonding moment, she tells him that Hell's Kitchen needs him and he tells her that his name is Matt.

Episode 5: World on Fire

In this episode Fisk and Wesley met with Madam Gao (Wai Ching Ho), Nobu (Peter Shinkoda) and Leland Owlsley while the car used in the last episode was cleaned of blood and brains. He tells them that the Ranskahov Brothers are no longer part of the organisation. Gao is not pleased by this and it takes Fisk some time to appease her.

Matt is tending to Claire's wounds for a change, Claire has fallen in love with Matt but can't be with someone who has so little disregard for his life. The Russians mistakenly kill on of Madame Gao's workers, they think he is the man in the black mask and Piotr (Paul Mann) gets arrested for it.

Karen and Foggy get a new client at the law office, Elena Cardenas (Judith Delgado) who Armand Tully is trying to evict from her apartment. Vladimir is brought the headless body of his brother which has a black mask conveniently in his pocket. Matt goes to the precinct to talk to Brett Mahoney about the case, he overhears two detectives, Christian Blake (Chris Tardio) and Carl Hoffman (Daryl Edwards) killing Piotr because he mentioned Fisk's name.

The Man in the Black Mask later approaches Blake, he asks him for Fisk's location, Blake tells him that he is wanted for the murder of Anatoly but Matt steals his phone. Foggy and Karen go to see the lawyers representing Tully, this turns out to be Foggy's ex girlfriend Marci (Amy Rutberg). Foggy argues the legality of Tully's actions and both Karen and Marci seem to be really impressed by this confident Foggy.

Foggy and Karen go to Mrs Cardenas apartment to help her out and to fix it up a bit. The two of them are thanked by Mrs C with a date which is sweet. An explosion occurs in the building, Foggy leaves Karen to guard Mrs C as he checks the residents of the building.

Turk Barrett tells the Russians that he believes that the masked man is actually working for Fisk, this now means war. Fisk and Vanessa are on another date (let's hope this one goes a bit better than the last), she is carrying a gun in her purse and Fisk quizzes her as to why she has it. He tells her that he wants to reshape Hell's Kitchen, making it better for it's residents, and by his side is the safest place she could be.

Explosions can be seen from the restaurant, and Vanessa is then completely convinced by his plan. The Masked Man is near the explosions and fighting Vladimir. As they fight the police arrive and surround them, the last thing we see is Matt holding up his arms and the police close in.

Episode 6: Condemned

The Police attempt to take out The Masked Man but he swiftly overpowers the officers, Vladimir is shot during this. Our two most hated Detectives (Blake and Hoffman) appear again in this episode torturing a Russian gang member to find out the location of Vladimir, he then shoots this guy and orders the officers to shoot anyone from Vladimir's gang.

The Masked Man has Vladimir and he takes him to a warehouse, when Vladimir wakes up he is angry and wants to kill Matt but he tries to assure him that he did not kill Anatoly and that Vladimir is being played by Fisk. Vladimir is bleeding out due to the gunshot wound, Matt calls Claire who talks her through the process of saving him, until she finds out it's Vladimir then she hesitates.

A Police Officer named Sullivan (Matthew Blumm) patrolling the area hears Vladimir's screams as Matt is trying to cauterise the wound. The Masked Man tries to determine whether this officer is working for Fisk, turns out he is not and instead of calling off his back up he tells them the location they are at and then is knocked out.

Blake and Hoffman surround the warehouse just as Ben Ulrich arrives looking for information. Sullivan is then handcuffed to a pole and his gun is taken apart by The Masked Man, which Vladimir seems unhappy about. Vladimir also seems interested in The Masked Mans code, he asks him why he does not kill. Vladimir then tells him about his history with Fisk, he then says he will reveal Fisk's money man but as The Masked Man leans in Vladimir attacks sending them both down several floorboards.

Vladimir states that it was fun to see the Masked Man bleed and slips back into unconsciousness. The Masked Man performs CPR on Vladimir bringing him back from the brink. Fisk contacts Matt on the radio, they discuss each other's motives and Fisk gives him a choice. Kill Vladimir and escape or be brandished a criminal who is responsible for all the ongoing violence. The Masked Man turns this offer down.

A police sniper is set up in the opposite building, he shoots Blake (who was arguing with Urich) and two other officers, this is blamed on the Masked Man. S.W.A.T team storms the building, but The Masked Man and Vladimir find a manhole, Vladimir actually helps him escape. Officer Sullivan who was handcuffed to a pole is shocked to hear an officer report that he is dead, that is until he is stabbed in the neck.

S.W.A.T officers follow The Masked Man and Vladimir into the sewers. They are overpowered by the Masked Man and Vladimir takes on of there guns and aims it at the Masked Man. Matt tries to get him to join his side against Fisk, Vladimir states that the only way to stop Fisk was to kill him, then he chooses to stay behind and fight as The Masked Man escapes. He then does reveal who Fisk's money man is, telling Matt that he has to find Leland Owlsley (Bob Gunton). As The Masked Man leaves Vladimir sings an old Russian song until he is killed.

Episode 7: Stick

After young Matt's Dad died he went to live in Saint Agnes Orphanage, during his time here he was in a lot of pain, his abilities overwhelmed him and he hadn't learned how to control them. A nun then decided to reach out to a man named Stick (Scott Glenn), he gave young Matt a choice, self pity or learning to use his new abilities to his benefit, Matt choose to learn over self pity.

Later in their training Matt gives stick a bracelet made from the ice cream wrapper that Stick bought him, Stick doesn't seem pleased and just up and leaves. In the present day Leland Owlsley is approached by the Man in the Mask, he is asked about his employer but refuses to answer. Leland then tazes Matt who has been distracted by the sound of a cane, Stick then tells Matt to get up.

Karen has another secret meeting with Ben Ulrich, they both swap notes about Union Allied Construction, turns out Ben doesn't have much but he does see the connection between The Triad, Blake's coma and the Masked Man. Karen then goes to visit Mrs C with some groceries, they talk about the destruction of the apartment and Mrs C tells her that Foggy loves her. As Karen leaves she is confronted by two thugs and is saved again by Foggy.

Stick goes back to Matt's apartment and begins berating him for having a place to sit and some silk sheets. Stick then takes it one step too far by insulting Matt's Dad, they both start fighting and then Stick asks for Matt's help to stop the arrival of Black Sky. Matt makes Stick promise not to kill anyone.

Stick and Matt both go to the docks, Matt deals with Nobu's mean and Stick is tasked with dealing with Black Sky. The cargo container begins to open and much to Matt's shock the Black Sky is a child. Matt stops the arrow Stick has aimed at the Black Sky and begins fighting Nobu's men. The Black Sky and Stick then disappear.

Stick is in Matt's apartment, Matt wants an explanation as to why Stick broke his promise not to kill. Stick tells him that The Black Sky was not a child and had to be killed, this leads them both to start fighting. The apartment gets beaten up a bit too but Matt wins the fight telling Stick to leave his city. Stick leaves and reports to an unknown party, he tells him that the job is done and that he doesn't know if Matt will be ready.

Karen takes Foggy to Ulrich office (hardly playing it safe). She tells Ulrich that they need Foggy for the next part of their mission and they discuss The Masked Man. As Matt's trying to clean up his apartment he find the paper bracelet that he gave to Stick all those years ago.

Episode 8: Shadows in the Glass

In a flashback we see Bill Fisk (Domenick Lombardozzi) borrowing money from Don Rigoletto, Bill wants to run for city council as he sees it as his and his family's ticket, he uses this money to fund his campaign. Bill loses the election and when he sees a kid named Bernie Walker (Keenan Jolliff) destroying his campaign signs he decided to use it to teach a young Wilson (Cole Jensen) not to let others hold him back or scare him.

When the get home Bill starts taking out all his anger by beating Marlene (Angela Reed), he blames her and Wilson for his city council defeat. Wilson stares at the wall, he looks like he may be about to crack, he picks up a hammer and smashes his dad's skull in. In present day Fisk is meeting with Nobu about the death of Black Sky, Wesley (who is translating) doesn't like how Nobu is talking to Fisk but he eventually calms him down. Fisk finds out that Detective Blake has awoken from his coma, he hires Blake's partner Hoffman to kill him. After Hoffman gives Blake an injection the Masked Man appears. He is too late to save Blake but he does find out some information on Fisk.

Karen and Foggy tell Matt about their work will Ben Ulrich on Union Allied Construction. Matt is not happy, he thinks that they are putting themselves in danger but he says he will help if they follow his leadership, they agree. Fisk has Melvin Potter (Matt Gerald) make armour for Leland Owlsley to wear, Leland is not happy with they way Fisk is dealing with the Masked Man.

Madam Gao arrives at Fisk's apartment. She knows he does not need Wesley to translate as he can speak Japanese and Mandarin. She tells Fisk to get his house in order, otherwise she will deal with the cartel members without him, when she leaves Fisk has another fit of anger. Later Vanessa appears at Fisk's apartment and he opens up to her about his past before they take their relationship to the next level.

The masked man meets with Ben Ulrich, they both decided to expose Fisk and his dodgy dealings. They believe that exposing him will slow his progress. The next day Ulrich is writing his expose about Fisk but before he can send it to his editor Fisk hold a press conference stating that he is the good guy and the Masked Man is a terrorist.

Matt then heads to work while Karen and Foggy go to see Ben Ulrich to discuss Fisks press conference and to discuss the Masked Man. They all have mixed views on the Masked Man morales, which Matt finds funny.

Fisk and Wesley meet to discuss Hoffman's whereabouts when Nobu interrupts, he takes out a bodyguard and wants to know why he doesn't have the tower block he was promised. Fisk tells him that the Masked Man has slowed progress and it may take Nobu's organization to take this vigilante down, and Nobu agrees.

Murdock goes to Vanessa's gallery, he is looking for some insight to Fisk. As he talks to her Fisk appears in the gallery, they both have a short conversation and Matt quickly leaves, which Fisk notices. The next day Matt goes to speak to Father Lantom again, when he goes to work they are having a celebration until Officer Mahoney appears to tell them Elena Cardenas (Mrs C) has been killed by Junkie Jake (Michael Abbott Jr).

The three of them go to identify her body, and then head to Josie's bar to have a wake and arrange her funeral. The news is interviewing Wilson Fisk about Mrs C's death, Fisk taunts the Mask by telling him to come out from the shadows. Matt returns to his apartment and decides he must kill Fisk. He goes out as the Mask and beats up a bunch of junkies until he finds Junkie Jake, he tells him his employer would meet him at Pier 81.

Matt goes to the pier and is confronted by Nobu, they both fight and as Nobu goes to kill him Matt ignites the fluid that Nobu is covered in. Fisk then appears with his goons and tells Matt that this was a trap which was set up to kill them both, they aim their guns at the Mask as Fisk beats him up. Ben is visiting his wife Doris (Adriane Lenox) at the hospital, he was not allowed an extension to her care, he cannot afford to put her in a hospice, so he decides the only thing for him to do is take her home. Ellison (Geoffrey Cantor) offers Ben a better job at the New York Bulletin, which he says he will consider.

Karen is at the office and is surprised when Ben shows up their with a shoebox filled with all his Fisk research. Ben tells Karen that his wife's health is his top priority but Karen convinces him to drive her to a hospice which she feels that Ben needs to see.

Fisk is getting ready for a fundraiser, Madam Gao is not happy with him so he asks Leland Owlsley to check in on her and tell her that the cartel is all well and fine. Leland goes to see Gao, they both talk about how Fisk has changed ever since Vanessa appeared in his life.

Karen takes Ben to a fancy hospice, turns out it was all a trick so she could introduce Ben to Marlene Vistain (Phyllis Somerville) who is Fisk's mother. She continues to tell them that Wilson didn't mean to do what he did, this makes Ben regain his interest in the case.

Leland Owlsley appears at the fundraiser and tells Fisk that he has taken care of everything. People drink the wine and begin to faint, turns out it was poisoned and Vanessa was one of the drinkers. Foggy leaves Matt's apartment, he goes and packs his things up at Nelson and Murdock, throwing the new placard they got into the bin.

Episode 11: The Path of the Righteous

Fisk has sat in the hospital all night, three people have been killed by the same poison that Vanessa has ingested. Wesley tells Leland Owlsley to watch the finances of the hand, and look in on Madam Gao (both he suspects may be the poisoners). Foggy wakes up in bed next to his ex Marci, she tells him to lock up when he's done and doesn't seem to care about the drama between Foggy and Matt.

Matt is at Claire Temple's getting his stitches repaired, she tells him she will be their to help him if he medically needs it but she has to leave the city for a while and suggests that if he continue fighting that he invest in some body armour.

Matt goes out as the Mask and gets information from Turk Barrett about Melvin Potter (who made the suit for Owlsley). Matt pays Melvin a visit, they both fight but Matt eventually persuades him to make him a suit. Marlene calls her son, Fisk is too wrapped up in Vanessa so Wesley takes the call and finds out that Karen and Ben visited her the night previously.

Karen finds Foggy at Josie's bar, he won't tell her what happened between him and Matt. As she makes her way to her apartment Wesley abducts her and takes her to an abandoned warehouse. He threatens her family, friends and her life when he places a gun on the table. However he gets distracted when Fisk calls so Karen picks up the gun and shoots him multiple times in the chest. She takes the gun and runs as Fisk continues to try and call Wesley.

Leland Owlsley tries to link Wesley's death to the poisoning of Vanessa, but Fisk decides to put out a bounty for information of Wesley's killer.

Foggy goes to Josie's Bar to meet with Marci, he tells her he wants to know about all of Fisk's work and gives her paperwork supporting Fisk's criminal activities. When she asks him where he got them he tells her they came from the devil of Hell's Kitchen. He tells Marci that Fisk will see justice and that she better figure out what side she is on before these facts about her employer are aware to the public.

Matt follows a blind man to Gao's warehouse, turns out that these workers actually blinded themselves after promised a better life working for Gao. The Devil and Gao fight, she decides that she is done with this city and will return to her home. During the fight a fire broke out which drew the attention of the fire and police department. Fisk moves his mother to Italy, and Ben get's fired from the New York Bulletin after insulting Ellison. Ben goes to visit his wife and she convinces him to start his own blog in order to get the story out there.

Fisk asks him about Wesley's death but Ben doesn't know anything, Fisk threatens Ben but Ben tells him these threats are empty, so Fisk decides to kill Ben by strangling him.

Episode 13: Daredevil

Matt and Karen both go to Ben's funeral, which is also attended by Ellison. Karen meets Doris, and is pretty upset with Foggy for not showing up. Matt tell's her that the reason Foggy isn't there is to do with him. Fisk meets with Leland Owlsley to discuss Wesley's death and some financial discrepancies that Fisk has noticed.

At first Leland denies everything but eventually reveals to Fisk that he and Madam Gao are responsible for the poisoning of Vanessa. Leland tries to blackmail Fisk by telling him he has Officer Hoffman alive, and if he doesn't leave town unharmed with half of Fisk's money he will send Hoffman to the authorities to implement Fisk.

Fisk however is so enraged that Leland tried to kill Vanessa that he throws him down an elevator shaft which kills him. He then orders his men to find Hoffman. Foggy finds Matt at the boxing gym, and they both go to visit their friend Officer Mahoney. While in the precinct Matt overhears a cop on Fisk's payroll talk about the order to find Hoffman.

Karen, Foggy and Matt discover a property on the financial ledgers and they think that Hoffman is being hidden there. The Mask goes and rescues Hoffman from the crooked cops who are looking for him, he escorts him to the station where Hoffman gives his statement to Officer Mahoney. Matt and Foggy also represent Hoffman as he hands everything over to the FBI regarding Fisk.

Everyone who works for Fisk is arrested as well as Fisk himself but he later escapes custody. When he finds out about the escape Matt goes to see Melvin and gets his new red suit. The Devil finds Fisk before he leaves the city, and the two start fighting in an alleyway. The Devil manages to knock him out as Officer Mahoney takes Fisk into custody.

The press has called the Masked Man, Daredevil. Foggy, Karen and Matt all celebrate as the sign is put up outside the office. Fisk is rotting in a cell staring at his wall while Daredevil patrols the streets at night.

Thoughts

It may not look it but this whole thing took me about ten hours to finish, so much information. I have gotten to watch the first five episodes of season two and I am enjoying it so far. As for season one, while rewatching and going through everything I now have a better appreciation for this season, Fisk/Kingpin has got to be one of my favourite Marvel villains and is better than Killgrave (he was great but not as good as Kingpin, if you don't believe me go and rewatch season one of Daredevil).

The action is great, the story is great, the villain is unpredictable, and the characters are well flushed out. I was shocked when Ben Ulrich dies, I am not a big comic book reader so it wasn't because of that, it was more because I really liked the character and thought he would be a great addition to the team.

So what do you think about season 1? Have you had season 2 spoiled for you yet? Do you not care about Daredevil? Then please comment to your heart's content below.

Game of Thrones - The Hall of Faces Trailer and Theories!

I've been watching out for this trailer for the past week and was pretty excited to see some footage from the new season. Instead we got to see the faces of characters, some of whom are long lost, and others who have yet to leave us. SPOILER WARNING for those who haven't caught up with season five. The trailer takes place in the Hall of Faces, which is inside the House of Black and White in Braavos. The hall looks great, creepy but great. We can hear some whispers which are too quiet for me to make out. Then Ned's (Sean Bean) face appears on screen, we then hear him say a line from the show's first ever episode called Winter is Coming.    "The Man who passes the sentence should swing the sword." The screen then fades to black and we then see a clip of some more rows of heads. We then hear even more whispers and which I think sounds like some drops of waters. We then hear the voice of Robb Stark (Richard Madden) who we hear give a quote from seaso...

Mental Illness in TV and Film - Dementors

Image Source Dementors have haunted me ever since I read The Prisoner of Azkaban way back in 1999. I was a Pre-Teen who was pretty much unaware of the depression that was just around the corner, in a way this book prepared me for what was to come, and after multiple reads, it became my go-to reference when explaining my depression. First off let's give a brief outline of Dementors, these magical wraith-like creatures can generally be found guarding Azkaban Prison, sucking the happiness, hope, and peace out of everyone around them. If you have had a horrible life marked by loss and abuse (just like Harry) you are much more affecte...

My week off!

[Quickmeme] Hello everybody. I took an inpromptu week off this week. Was only meant to be for Thanksgiving weekend but on Sunday I started to get a bad flu. Still not quite right at the moment. Chicken noodle soup would be great at the moment.                                   [USA Network] So what have I been watching on my week off? Besides the shows I usually write for this week I started watching Mr. robot, and I have to say it is pretty great. Think Fight Club meets The Social Network, very much shot like a David Fincher movie. It's gritty and had me hooked pretty quickly. Definitely a must see for those who haven't watched it already. [Paramount Pictures] So I decided it was time to watch some Christmas Movies and I popped this on. I thought it would be great and I'd be instantly transported back to my childhood. It wa...
