My Dream Crate

Loot Crate is such a great service, monthly pop culture items send to your door, it is every collector's dream. So when I heard that Loot Crate was asking customers to make there own dream crate I couldn’t help but jump at the idea. My actual dream crate has sadly become a reality so I decided that I needed to dream bigger (which at first sent me into a spiral of over creating) in order to achieve this goal, and my idea is pretty out there but stick with me.  I chose to settle for the BLOOD crate, which at first must sound very unappealing but stick with me, and I promise you this isn’t vampire related. I decided to incorporate two of my pop culture loves Tarantino, and Game of Thrones. At first, these two don’t seem to share a theme, but when you think about it these are both extremely bloody categories, main characters die, and both aren’t shy on focusing on humanities flaws.  I would include a Bolton T-Shirt and have it center on the Flayed man as nothing in Weste

Rogue One - Trailer Breakdown

The Rogue One Trailer actually got me really pumped for the film, yes we know how the story ends, but I'm interested to see how we get there. Today I am going to breakdown the second trailer frame by frame, and hopefully point out some things you guys may have missed. The trailer begins with (what I think looks like) an imperial shuttle landing on Jyn Erso's (Felicity Jones) home planet, as it lands Jyn's Father Galen (Mads Mikkelsen) watches from his farm and his voiceover states, "whatever I do, I do it to protect you." Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) and a bunch of Shadow Troopers walk towards the farm. The trailer then cuts to a scene between Galen and a young Jyn, he asks her if she understands the point he made before which she does. Then the trailer cuts to a tense scene between Krennic with his Shadow Troopers and Galen as Jyn watches on as she hides in the long grass. Jyn then wakes up in a prison cell which she shares with another creatu

San Diego Comic Con - Day 2

We had an action packed day yesterday, Game of Thrones panel, Walking Dead panel, Agents of Shield and plenty more. I am going to go through the top things we learned yesterday, some highlights, some Hodor, and some great trailers. The Walking Dead We may be no closer to finding out which cast member bore the brunt of Lucille, but we did learn a few things from this panel. The gang will come across some new survivors, now some of these people are friendly, others are not so friendly, but we will see leaders with different styles than what we might be used to. Rick is in a particularly bad place, so much so that Andrew Lincoln's own Mother has been giving him acting tips on how to get back to the emotional state he was in during the last season. It's good to know that however serious the scene that these actors all have a good time pranking each other on set, the pranks seem to involve a lot of glitter, and the odd chicken. Jeffrey Dean Morgan seems to be enjoyin

San Diego Comic Con - Day 1

I awoken today with a ton of notifications all surrounding the first day of San Diego Comic Con (I know Wednesday is technically Day 1 but Thursday is the first proper day) that I thought I'd do a daily recap on the con, instead of one giant con related post. I'd like to also note that I am not at comic con and am solely going on hearsay surrounding the panels as they are not available to stream this year. So strap in and let's talk about some of the highlights from yesterday. Luke Cage The Luke Cage panel sounds as if it was very exciting, a surprise visit for the Punisher himself, and a ton of shiny new trailers. The entire cast was announced: Mike Colter of course is playing Luke Cage, Mahershala Ali is playing Cottonmouth who is described as a Godfather like villain, Alfre Woodard is playing local politician Mariah Dillard, Simone Missick is playing police detective Misty Knight, Theo Rossi plays Shades Alvarez, Frank Whaley plays Misty's partner Rafae

Mr Robot Recap

As someone who suffers from a crippling anxiety and depression this show speaks to me on so many levels, no I'm not delusional or seeing things that may not be there, but as someone who isn't great in social situations this show speaks to me on a personal level unlike any other. SPOILER WARNING for everything from season one, so if you have yet to see this show that I can only describe as a weekly David Fincher trip then please go watch it and come back here when you're done and we can both talk about it together. Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) is a security engineer working at a cyber-security company called Allsafe, he struggles daily with his social anxiety, and the only way he can connect to people is by hacking them. His best friend Angela Moss (Portia Doubleday) also works for Allsafe, they both connected after Elliot's dad and Angela's mum died from Leukemia they contracted after working for the tech giant E corp. Morphine is Elliots drug of choice, he

An Open Letter About Ghostbusters

I'd like to start off this post by being honest, I have yet to see Ghostbusters, I have only been doing this since September and I don't have the following to warrant advanced screenings or the money to throw willy nilly at cinema tickets. I do want to see it as soon as I can, and have been pretty positive about it in the past, not because I'm a pseudo feminist, but because I enjoy all Paul Feig movies. Over the past few days of defending the honour of film critics I've been called a feminist, now let me break down that meaning for you, a feminist is someone who wants equal treatment, not someone who wants to be treated above anyone else. If a female lead film stinks we want you to say that it stinks, equality means the right to make terrible movies and be called out on it. I've been told that critics have been paid off by Sony to give positive reviews about their product, I can't speak for every film critic or blogger in the world but I'm sure if

Game of Thrones - Why Daenerys Will Win...

According to Tyrion Lannister playing the Great Game can be terrifying, one wrong move and our favourite characters heads could end up on a pike, but get it right and you can soon be sitting on the greatest (and most uncomfortable) throne of them all. SPOILERS   for everything we have seen in the show so far ending at the season finale, so if you haven't seen it then come back when you are all caught up. Until Someone Younger, more Beautiful... At the end of the season we got a new ruler, Queen Cersei Lannister (the first of her name) has taken power for herself just after her son, Tommen, jumped out a window after the death of his wife. Cersei is set to rule, but she will not rule for very long, not only because of an upcoming Northern Rebellion, but also because Daenerys is setting sail across the narrow sea, and hopefully landing on Westerosi soil at the start of the next season. We saw Cersei receive a prophecy at the start of season five, which could ind

Game of Thrones - The Battle of The Bastards Recap and Finale Predictions

Last Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones was one of the best I have ever seen, it felt like the two pillars of the series (fire and ice) where finally getting things done, and instead of politics we instead got some beautifully crafted action. Usually I recap every scene but in this week’s post I’ve decided, due to the copious amount of action in this episode, to instead give a short recap and review. This post will contain SPOILERS for those of you who haven’t seen this episode, so go watch it when you have the time and then come back here later. Got it? Ok, let’s do this. Daenerys V. The Masters The episode opened with an amazing shot of a catapult being launched from one of the Masters ships and the fiery bolder as it flies through the air before hitting the city of Meereen. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) is on her balcony high atop the great pyramid watching the chaos below her, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) joins her in her quarters, and he tells h
