My Dream Crate



Loot Crate is such a great service, monthly pop culture items send to your door, it is every collector's dream. So when I heard that Loot Crate was asking customers to make there own dream crate I couldn’t help but jump at the idea. My actual dream crate has sadly become a reality so I decided that I needed to dream bigger (which at first sent me into a spiral of over creating) in order to achieve this goal, and my idea is pretty out there but stick with me. 

I chose to settle for the BLOOD crate, which at first must sound very unappealing but stick with me, and I promise you this isn’t vampire related. I decided to incorporate two of my pop culture loves Tarantino, and Game of Thrones. At first, these two don’t seem to share a theme, but when you think about it these are both extremely bloody categories, main characters die, and both aren’t shy on focusing on humanities flaws. 

I would include a Bolton T-Shirt and have it center on the Flayed man as nothing in Westeros is as gruesome a sight that the Bolton’s House Sigil. The next item I would include in the crate would, of course, be Jules’ Wallet from Pulp Fiction which has become a pop culture staple since its debut in the mid-nineties. The next item I would include would be a bust of a White Walker, although they may not particularly shed blood themselves they will take it in order to conquer Westeros.

A piece of fan art that I would like to include would be the Giant Weirwood Tree from the last season of Game of Thrones this tree is both beautiful and haunting and would make a great collector's piece. From Dusk till Dawn was written by Quentin Tarantino who also stars in the film, so I thought it would be fun to include a sponge version of the Weapon used by Harvey Keitel’s character to try and stop the vampires (ok I sort of included vampires).

The next item I would include would be a mystery box which would include a random Pop Vinyl from one of these franchises; this could include anything from a Gogo Yubari, Daisy Domergue, Butch Coolidge, Hodor, or even one of the Red Priestess herself, Melisandre. There are so many characters to choose from in both of these universes that no crate may even look the same.

The Grand Budapest Hotel

The movie starts with the author telling a story which did not come from his imagination but was told to him during his stay at The Grand Budapest Hotel in 1968. We then hear the story which takes place in 1932 of a young Zero in his new job as lobby boy. Mr Gustav the concierge is somewhat of a mystery but is completely fascinating. I felt Ralph Finnes gave an Oscar worthy performance and I'm surprised he didn't receive a nomination. Mr Gustav reminded me of V (V for Vendetta), for his fantastic use of the English language delivered at a fast pace. Zero his young prodigy is extremely loyal to Mr Gustav, almost like he sees him as a father figure of sorts. Gustav's lady friend Madame D dies and in a last minute not yet fully authorized addition to her will she gives Gustav her priceless painting, "Boy with apple." Agents of Shield - Purpose in the Machine

So yeah I just finished watching Agents of Shield episode two. I was going to leave it until tomorrow morning but I found myself wanting to write about it.  I really enjoyed this episode guys and I am going to tell you why. SPOILERS ARE COMING! Now let's talk about Ward (Brett Dalton), I love hydra Ward best. If Grant has an evil purpose he is better for it, he might not have the girl, but he has a team. Ward is going to cleanse Hydra of all its money lovers. He will form Hydra 2.0, only in it for the destruction. Now that's the Ward we can all get behind, he might be the bad guy, but he's our bad guy. So the episode starts in 18th century England inside a creepy mansion with men in powdered wigs and such. They are technically drawing straws but with stones, the white stone goes in the Portal. Game of Thrones - Who Else Could Return From The Dead?

Spoilers ahead for episode seven of this sixth season, The Broken Man.  Last week I was so relieved to finally see the Gravedigger Theory  confirmed, us book fans had an idea that we hadn't quite seen the last of that loveable Hound, Sandor Clegane (Rory McCann), and it was nice to see him appear lugging a tree. Now we are faced with wondering who else could potentially rise from the dead before this sixth season is over. Stannis the Mannis Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) was apparently killed by Brienne at the end of last season, but the shot cut away before we saw his head being chopped off. If watching the show or reading the books has taught us anything it is to not believe someone is dead until we actually see it happen with our own two eyes.
