Game of Thrones Eastwatch - Performer of the Week

Spoilers are ahead for the latest Game of Thrones episode Eastwatch, if you haven't caught up then please come back when you have.

There are always such great performances in the Game of Thrones universe, it is always going to be hard to pick one specific performer of the week, but I decided to take a crack at it anyway. This week was no exception; Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) was great when he was pulled out of the lake by Bronn (Jerome Flynn) to see the devastation from last week's episode, and Cersei (Lena Headey) brought it in her enemies speech.

Dany's (Emilia Clarke) show of complete strength but moment of weakness when Jon (Kit Harington) spoke about his new plan to go capture a Wight where both great scenes to watch, Jon's interaction with Drogon was probably my favourite moment of the episode, Arya's (Maisie Williams) face reading techniques were so good that they lead me to think she knows exactly what Littlefinger (Aiden Gillen) is up too, and Sansa's (Sophie Turner) reaction to her sister reading her mind in both shock and awe will stay with me.

Littlefinger's conspiring was spot on this week as he thinks he has the upper hand but that letter will probably be his downfall, Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) walking the field of battle looking a mixture of sadness with a pinch of guilt actually broke my heart, Jorah's (Iain Glen) return to his Khaleesi brought a tear to my eye, and The Hound (Rory McCann) still having a complete disregard for any sort of religion (even though he saw what was in the flames) was a great moment in the episode.

Davos (Liam Cunningham) going back to his old reaving ways and bringing our new favourite bastard Gendry (Joe Dempsie) back to Dragonstone to meet Jon Snow (along with a callback to the banter between Ned Stark (Sean Bean) and King Robert (Mark Addy) from the first season) almost made him my performer of the week.

My performer of the week has got to be Gilly (Hannah Murray) for uncovering some vital information while Sam (John Bradley-West) sat and sulked about not being given any relevant information. Gilly has uncovered the annulment between Rhaegar Targaryen and his wife Elia Martell which was all written down by High Septon Maynard.

Now the first time I watched it I couldn't make out what she was saying, she didn't pronounce his name correctly so I watched the scene again, this time with subtitles, and it's as clear as day (sorry if the pictures a bit fuzzy had to take it on the TV). Rhaegar annulled his marriage to Elia and remarried someone else in a secret ceremony in Dorne at the exact same time. The show has now confirmed that Jon is NOT a bastard!

I feel like I've been waiting for this moment forever, the weight has lifted, and we finally have ourselves a legitimate contender to the throne. I wonder what Dany will do when she finds out his lineage or the rest of the North for that matter. Next week we will get to see Jon and the rest of the Magnificent Seven take on the Army of the Dead, maybe he won't survive long enough to find out the truth.

Daredevil Season 2 Trailer

SPOILERS, as always for those who haven't watched season one.  So everyone's favorite Blind(ish) Superhero is back in a new trailer. Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) is feeling guilty, maybe for the death of Ben Urich (Vondie Curtis-Hall) last season, maybe for something completely different. Father Lantom (Peter McRobbie) tells Matt that guilt can be a good, although Karen (Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy (Elden Henson) also look plenty guilty in this teaser trailer. We then see a bunch of clips including Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) in her nurse scrubs, and Elektra (Elodie Yung) getting her mask on, all while hearing a voice over from Father Lantom who indicates that it may be because Matt's work as Daredevil is not yet finished. We then see Karen Page holding a Punisher skull on a x-ray and looking pretty freaked out by it. Then comes what I am most looking forward to, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) is here, in a hospital (watch out Claire) and looking pretty bad ass if I do...

Game of Thrones - Who Else Could Return From The Dead?

Spoilers ahead for episode seven of this sixth season, The Broken Man.  Last week I was so relieved to finally see the Gravedigger Theory  confirmed, us book fans had an idea that we hadn't quite seen the last of that loveable Hound, Sandor Clegane (Rory McCann), and it was nice to see him appear lugging a tree. Now we are faced with wondering who else could potentially rise from the dead before this sixth season is over. Stannis the Mannis Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) was apparently killed by Brienne at the end of last season, but the shot cut away before we saw his head being chopped off. If watching the show or reading the books has taught us anything it is to not believe someone is dead until we actually see it happen with our own two eyes. The Hound was in a similar position, we all thought he would die from bleeding out in the middle of nowhere but he had help in the form of Brother Ray (Ian McShane), who had stumbled upon him and saved him from dea...
