San Diego Comic Con - Day 2

We had an action packed day yesterday, Game of Thrones panel, Walking Dead panel, Agents of Shield and plenty more. I am going to go through the top things we learned yesterday, some highlights, some Hodor, and some great trailers. The Walking Dead We may be no closer to finding out which cast member bore the brunt of Lucille, but we did learn a few things from this panel. The gang will come across some new survivors, now some of these people are friendly, others are not so friendly, but we will see leaders with different styles than what we might be used to. Rick is in a particularly bad place, so much so that Andrew Lincoln's own Mother has been giving him acting tips on how to get back to the emotional state he was in during the last season. It's good to know that however serious the scene that these actors all have a good time pranking each other on set, the pranks seem to involve a lot of glitter, and the odd chicken. Jeffrey Dean Morgan seems to be enjoyin

San Diego Comic Con - Day 1

I awoken today with a ton of notifications all surrounding the first day of San Diego Comic Con (I know Wednesday is technically Day 1 but Thursday is the first proper day) that I thought I'd do a daily recap on the con, instead of one giant con related post. I'd like to also note that I am not at comic con and am solely going on hearsay surrounding the panels as they are not available to stream this year. So strap in and let's talk about some of the highlights from yesterday. Luke Cage The Luke Cage panel sounds as if it was very exciting, a surprise visit for the Punisher himself, and a ton of shiny new trailers. The entire cast was announced: Mike Colter of course is playing Luke Cage, Mahershala Ali is playing Cottonmouth who is described as a Godfather like villain, Alfre Woodard is playing local politician Mariah Dillard, Simone Missick is playing police detective Misty Knight, Theo Rossi plays Shades Alvarez, Frank Whaley plays Misty's partner Rafae

Mr Robot Recap

As someone who suffers from a crippling anxiety and depression this show speaks to me on so many levels, no I'm not delusional or seeing things that may not be there, but as someone who isn't great in social situations this show speaks to me on a personal level unlike any other. SPOILER WARNING for everything from season one, so if you have yet to see this show that I can only describe as a weekly David Fincher trip then please go watch it and come back here when you're done and we can both talk about it together. Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) is a security engineer working at a cyber-security company called Allsafe, he struggles daily with his social anxiety, and the only way he can connect to people is by hacking them. His best friend Angela Moss (Portia Doubleday) also works for Allsafe, they both connected after Elliot's dad and Angela's mum died from Leukemia they contracted after working for the tech giant E corp. Morphine is Elliots drug of choice, he

An Open Letter About Ghostbusters

I'd like to start off this post by being honest, I have yet to see Ghostbusters, I have only been doing this since September and I don't have the following to warrant advanced screenings or the money to throw willy nilly at cinema tickets. I do want to see it as soon as I can, and have been pretty positive about it in the past, not because I'm a pseudo feminist, but because I enjoy all Paul Feig movies. Over the past few days of defending the honour of film critics I've been called a feminist, now let me break down that meaning for you, a feminist is someone who wants equal treatment, not someone who wants to be treated above anyone else. If a female lead film stinks we want you to say that it stinks, equality means the right to make terrible movies and be called out on it. I've been told that critics have been paid off by Sony to give positive reviews about their product, I can't speak for every film critic or blogger in the world but I'm sure if
